Error 1606: Could not access network location 0\
Well the fix is not that difficult but requires some Registry Tweaking so it would be better if you have a backup of your registry, but if you are confident enough then you can do it without that as well.
Steps:
1. Type regedit in the Run box to open the registry editor.
2. Now navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> Explorer -> User Shell Folders
3. Locate the key named “Recent” in the right side and delete it by right clicking on it.
4. Windows may require a restart.

How to Dispose Off a CD/DVD
No doubt, you should dump or dispose the CD but what is the best way to do that? Breaking a CD involves risks as the broken part can fly and hurt us, thus here is a list of steps in this Tip of the day, that will help you in disposing the important but useless CDs.
Steps:
• The best way to dispose off a CD disk is by using a paper cum CD shredder. The shredder also has a support for credit cards etc and is the best way to shred a CD if you have it.
• You can also make use of a hard bristle brush like a brush with metal spikes to scratch the CD in a manner that it removes most of the shiny part of it.
• You may use a sand paper or just rub the CD on to the ground firm enough to make it unusable.
• But if you still want to dispose a CD by breaking it then be sure that you have worn a hand glove and all the parts of your body are covered especially your eye.
• What about giving it to your child with your car key? :)
Got more ideas ? let me know....

What to do at “Error Performing Inpage Operation”
One of my readers came across this problem that whenever he tried to open a drive there comes an error message that “F:\ is not accessible, Error Performing Inpage Operation”.
Following are the causes of the error message and what to do at this.
Causes:
• The error message only comes up when you try to access any partition on the drive or perform some operations on it.
• The error message can also mean that your drive is in bad state and is experiencing some physical problems.
What to do:
When you start receiving this error, no doubt your hard disk is in bad condition. There is nothing much that can be done with this problem and also there is no solution available for that so just back up most of the data that you can and send it for replacement. It is time you should have a new hard disk for yourself.

Denial-of-Service Attack in details
To picture a "denial-of-service" attack, think about what would happen if you and all your friends called the same restaurant over and over and ordered things you didn't even really want. You'd jam the phone lines and overwhelm the kitchen to the point that it couldn't take any more new orders.
That's what happens to Web sites when criminals and hackers hit them with denial-of-service attacks. They're knocked offline by too many junk requests from computers controlled by the attackers.
The bad guys' main weapons in such an attack are "botnets," or networks of "zombie" personal computers they've infected with a virus. The virus lets the criminals remotely control innocent people's machines, which are programmed to contact certain Web sites over and over until that overwhelms the servers that host the sites. The servers become too busy to respond to anything, and the Web site slows or stops working altogether.
People try denial-of-service attacks all the time, but assaults are often unsuccessful because Web sites have ways of identifying and intercepting malicious traffic.
Sites that go down generally are less prepared, because they are less accustomed to being hit or aren't sensitive enough to warrant extra precautions.
Popular Web sites, like e-commerce and banking sites, have a lot of experience dealing with denial-of-service attacks, and they have sophisticated software designed to identify malicious traffic.
If your computer is being used in a denial-of-service attack, you're likely to see a significant slowdown, because your processing power is being siphoned for the assault. But there aren't always obvious signs that your computer has been infected.
So the best thing is to focus on prevention, namely by having up-to-date antivirus software. If you're concerned your machine might be infected, it's wise to run an antivirus scan. Many antivirus companies offer a free scan from their Web sites.

Do You Need the Latest Computer prodocuts ?
Back when computers were a commodity, this PC myth held some truth. The computers that first came out were very inefficient and slow compared to the ones that we have now. During the olden days, purchasing and installing the latest computer components gave PCs a noticeable boost on speed and performance.
Nowadays, the difference between the newest PC components and their prior versions is imperceptible unless you perform benchmark tests or frequently run demanding software applications. Professional graphics designers, PC enthusiasts and hardcore PC gamers may indeed need the most recent computer hardware, but for the average user the latest breakthrough technology will not make a difference.
New PC hardware are all the more impractical to get due to their hefty price tags. A new release can cost several hundred dollars more than its previous version. It would be great if we all had the cash to splurge on these enticing products. As everyone knows, however, money is difficult to come by. If your computer runs your applications as fast as you need it to, you do not have to upgrade anything.
The next time you step inside a computer shop, do not let all the sales talk get into your head. Remember that you do not need all the hoots and whistles that come with the latest computer hardware. Stay wise, be practical and base your upgrades on computer components that fit your lifestyle!
You can Bargain Laptops
The cheapest laptops available will be second hand laptops. However, there is always the risk that there might be a problem with the machine, or that it won't be completely up to date. These can be great, however, for those who only need a laptop to fulfill simple needs - such as connecting to the internet and using a word processor.
Cheap deals on new laptops are available if you look for them. Throughout the year, most major laptop manufacturers and vendors will have sales and reduce the price for a limited time. Keep an eye out for these kinds of sales, or go to venues such as online auctions for permanently reduced price deals.
Often, finding the best deals will take time, patience and even a little active research on your part. Whilst this means you may not be able to get your new machine straight away, it does ensure that you will get more value for your money. A little bit of research can help you save hundreds of dollars off a new laptop. Bargain laptop computers are really not too difficult to find.
There are bargain laptop computers available everywhere, just remember to think carefully about what it can add to your life and check the specifications carefully. Also, search the internet for a few reviews about the laptop model you are thinking about buying. This will help you find any problems people have had with the particular laptop.

Poor computer performance by your Windows-based machine can sneak up on you gradually. You may find its performance deteriorating increasingly until one day you realize you must fix it or buy a new one. Signs of poor performance can include applications running very slowly, programs closing or freezing up suddenly, and a generally slower response time to OS (operating system)-related commands. I have compiled 9 fixes for you here that you can leverage right now to greatly improve your computer's performance.
Fix #1: Download and run MS Service Pack 2: Every operating system requires patches and upgrades by its maker from time-to-time, with Microsoft XP being no exception. While Service Pack 2 was released in 2002, some people with older systems are still not running it: make sure your computer is. You can download it FREE from Microsoft's Web site.
Fix #2: Run the Disk Cleanup utility: Your computer likely has a number of unused and unneeded files that take up valuable space on your hard drive and slow performance. Run your FREE, built-in Disk Cleanup utility to automatically remove these files. Find it by going to: Start Programs Accessories System Tools Disk Cleanup and following the prompts.
Fix #3: Defragment your hard drive: Over time, your computer will store files in an increasingly inefficient manner on your hard drive, affecting file retrieval times and other performance factors. To fix this, you need to defragment your hard disk drive. To do this for FREE, just go to: Start Programs Accessories System Tools Disk Defragmenter. First, highlight the drive you want to clean up (e.g., C drive) and choose Analyze. Once complete, choose Defragment. Note that the defragmentation process could take up to an hour or more, so do this during a time when you can step away from your computer.
Fix #4: Run an anti-virus tool: Computer viruses are malicious programs that drastically affect your computer's performance, either all at once or insidiously over time. You can stop a virus attack by installing and running anti-virus software which performs regular scans, locates the offending viruses and quarantines them. Symantec's world class antivirus tools are an excellent choice.
Fix #5: Clean your registry: Your computer's registry is a tool that most non-computer specialists never see but which is vitally important to computer operations. Your registry stores settings and options for your hardware, operating system, and other software. Unfortunately, given its fundamental role in the performance of your system, your registry is often the target of attack or infection. To thoroughly and automatically clean your registry, run a regular registry scan using a registry cleaning tool. You can find a number of excellent products by doing an Internet search. Look for one that offers a free scan.
Fix #6: Run anti-spyware software: Spyware is computer software that installs itself in your computer and performs a number of unwanted functions, including monitoring your computer usage and interfere with your control. It represents a real threat and has become a significant problem in recent years. Fortunately, fixes are easy to find and include a number of free and inexpensive anti-spyware programs. Try SpyBot Search & Destroy, great free product.
Fix #7: Increase your computer's memory: Today's applications require more and more memory (RAM) to run. If your computer is more than two years old or if you selected the minimal memory option upon purchase, you might benefit from adding another 1 GB or more to your computer. Check online or at your local computer dealer for pricing.
Fix #8: Clean your hard drive: More comprehensive than the Disk Utility tool introduced above, cleaning your hard drive with professional cleaning software is a great way to improve performance. Try CCleaner for free by doing an Internet search.
Fix #9: As a last resort, re-format your hard drive: If after trying all of the above items and your computer still performs poorly, a last resort is to completely reformat your hard drive. Warning: proceed with caution since this action will erase your entire hard drive, including your operating system (OS)! If you decide to take this route, consult an online tutorial for how-to steps. At minimum, remember two things: be sure to back up all of your files and applications and retain a copy of your OS on CD so that you can re-install it later.

See the Katmai Bears emerge from their seven-month slumber to greet a new day.
Personally, the last sunrise that I’ve caught was last summer on the Black Sea beach.
